Description:

Juni is approx. 7-9 year old Pomeranian mix; she is spayed and fully vetted she has also had a full dental and is now ready to find her forever home! Notes from foster mom: Her house training is very good, but I doubt she could last all day without a break. Juni is pretty good on leash and loves to go for walks. There is some pulling, but not terrible. She will bark at other dogs when out for a walk. Its mostly curiosity, but she can be nervous about strange dogs. She does seem to have some tracheal weakness so should never be walked in a collaronly on a harness She is a fetching/retrieving fool and will play fetch with you for as long as your arm holds out. She is learning to play with other dogs, but generally prefers playing with her people. She is not a fan of dry kibble, but has happily eaten moistened kibble with some canned. She was quite thin upon admission to rescue, but is slowly putting on some weight. She is fed twice day, a no grain kibble and some cannedabout cup of kibble and a tablespoon of canned. Doesnt seem to do well with turkey. My only two complaints about Juni are her love of chasing cats and her tendency to bark. She isnt a random barker, but will bark out the window or door if she can see out and see cats/raccoons/squirrels or if she can hear another dog barking. She is extremely affectionate with humans once she knows she is safe and loves to give kisses. She has been fine with all of my dogs (all small, but not as small as she is), but has only recently begun to share a bed and play with them. She also now shares toys which she didnt before. She has obviously been taught to stand on her back legs as she does this for treats. I have been unable to teach her to sit so far as she is a dedicated back leg stander. She is very bright and has good recall (as long as she isnt in pursuit of a cat or squirrel). She will also go and get a toy and bring it back in the house on command. She LOVES squeaky toys. Juni has already been a stray once so caution must be taken that she doesnt end up back on the streets. She is very quick, extremely agile and could easily get away from an owner. She can jump quite high and is smart enough to figure out how to jump on one object to get to a higher object. Given her tiny size, she could squeeze through gaps and holes in most fencing and could probably get through most wrought iron fencing. Caution should be taken with her in any locale where the fencing isnt solid. Also because of her small size, caution needs to be taken with her around large dogs. Because she is a barker and does like to bark in the faces of other dogs, she could easily be hurt. I would also be very cautious about her with small children. Again, shes small and could be injured by being hugged too tight or dropped. Given her initial nervousness with us, Id also worry that she would find most small children threatening and/or overwhelming. She can be hard on toys and a home with small toys (childrens) on the floor would not be a good thing for her. She will chew and swallow things like Lego, etc. see video here http://s716.photobucket.com/albums/ww169/dunkirk77/?action=view&current=MAH00896.mp4
