Subscriptions are a powerful
way to increase your notifications when pets are listed on the
site. It's a way to extend the range of listing you
receive without overwhelming you.
For example, we hope that
everyone has set their location to receive lost and found
listings near them. We usually recommend about 2-10 miles.
But, what if you want to be notified if a specific breed was
listed.
As an example, if your
Burnese Mountain Dog is missing, you would likely want to know
anytime one was listed on the map.
Or perhaps you want to
adopt a mid-size dog and you want to be notified when one is
added as available for adoption.
These are just two examples
of how subscriptions can extend your notifications. |
 |
Click the Subscriptions
Button.
Next, click the Pets
button. |
 |
The red line at the top of
the panel, tells you you have no subscriptions set up at
present.
You can
have many different subscriptions.
For each subscription, you
need to set an Area and a Status. You can further
narrow your subscription by adding filters. e.g. If you want
only a specific species. |
 |
Make your selections and
then click New Subscription.
In my example, I have chosen
to be alerted any time a dog 20lbs or under is listed in the
state of Arizona. |
 |
After clicking on the
New Subscription button, Click OK to confirm you wish
to create a new subscription.
Once your subscription has
been created you will receive a confirmation message. |
 |
At any time you can change a current subscription or remove
a subscription. Just click on My Current Subscriptions. |
 |
Click Edit or
Remove beside any subscription you wish to change or remove.
|
 |
This screen shows what it
looks like when you edit a subscription. Take note of the
subscription # at the top of the screen. This number identifies
the subscription for you so that when you receive alerts, you
know which subscription it came from.
Click Save when you are
finished.
Don't worry, if
you have multiple overlapping subscriptions, we will only send
you one alert. |
 |
It's important to note how
the filter Organizations works. When you click on
the Icon to show the list, the list will appear different
depending upon your status selections.
If you have picked the status
Adoptable Pets, then your list will show all
rescue, shelters and vets as these organizations are allowed to
list pets available for adoption.
If you have picked
Lost, Found or Stolen then
your list will only contain organizations you are a member of.
This allows you to be
alerted any time a member in the organization lists a missing
pet.
Note: this
feature also allows pets that are adopted out to be instantly
reported back to the adopting organization. |
 |
Want to be notified any time a pet is listed as being
available for adoption? Then just select the organization you
wish to receive alerts from.
Don't forget to click Save when you are finished
making changes. |
