The ability to track a pet delivers functionality to direct a
search team to a specific area quickly. Working in conjunction
with pet sightings or a tip phoned in, you can contact your search
team in minutes. Depending upon the size of your team and their
distance from the sighting, you could have hundreds of searchers
on the ground ready to assist you to catch your pet. Some key
points about this feature:
|
|
The person who listed the pet(usually
the owner), decides if they wish to allow other members
to track their pet. Only the owner can send out a txt
message.. For now a text message can only be sent from
the desktop application. We will be releasing a mobile
phone app soon and other features that will further
assist you in getting your pet back home. |
|
|
Each member decides which pets they
want to track |
|
|
Please use this technology sparingly
and responsibly. We recommend you only text your
tracking team when you have a confirmed sighting.
If you txt message them too frequently, they will stop
responding and will likely not respond when you really
need them. |
|
|
Tracking a pet should only be invoked for pets that are
on the run and not able to be caught or trapped by other means. |
Please Note
Tracking a pet and assisting to catch a pet is very risky.
You can easily be bitten or otherwise attacked as the pet will
most likely be very fearful. By tracking a pet, you are
assuming this responsibility.
Helping Lost Pets assumes
no responsibility for this risk and in no way are we encouraging
you to track any pet.
